Parts List

The Patrol Tent

Tent – You may here it referred to as a “D4”. This is a brand name of a type of Patrol Tent. The term “Tent” usually refers to the whole thing.

A PegPegs – These are pins or stakes banged into the ground around which the guy lines are passed. They are usually made from wood but may be made from plastic or metal. Wooden pegs are the norm for patrol tents but not your only choice. Hard ground is best tackled with metal pegs and gravelly or loose ground with wooden or plastic pegs.

Corner of TentCanvas – The “canvas” is the cloth of the tent. It is called the canvas as that is the material from which it is made. Almost all Patrol Tents are made from this material. Even with tents made from other types of cloth, the cloth is always called the canvas.
