GOSPORT DISTRICT SCOUT FELLOWSHIP “KUDU” COMPETITION
24th-25th September 2005
The last Gosport District Kudu Competition was held in the autumn
of 2004. Those who took part said they really enjoyed it and we'd
like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us again because
we've been asked to do another one. Hoorah!
If you don't know what a Kudu is it's basically a night hike starting
from a secret location (all will be revealed nearer the time!) covering
an undisclosed number of miles. Walking as part of a 4 person team
you will navigate your way around the route stopping at a number of
carefully calculated bases along the way. At each base you will take
part in a range of challenging but fun activities where you will earn
points for your team. At the end of the hike, having pitched before
you left, your tent and sleeping bag will be waiting for you to take
a power nap before the final part of the Kudu when you will all help
to prepare breakfast for your team.
This year's event is nearly upon us, and we apologise for the short
notice, but we would like as many of you to compete and enjoy yourselves
on the evening of Saturday 24th September through to around midday
on Sunday 25th September. These timings are approximate and more precise
details are enclosed and are to follow, but please let your Explorer
Leader know by Friday 16th September if you are interested in participating
so that teams can be arranged. The cost will be £2 per person.
If you would like further information then please do not hesitate
to contact me. We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing
you there!
